Is PasteMu free?
Yes, completely free. You can create pastes without an account, and registering costs nothing either.
What's the difference between Public, Unlisted, and Private?
Public pastes appear on the Explore page and can be found through search. Unlisted pastes can only be opened by someone holding the link. Private pastes can only be opened by you while signed in.
What's the maximum size of a paste?
A single paste is limited to 1 MB of text. For larger files, a file storage service is a better fit.
What is 'burn after read'?
A paste with this option destroys itself the moment someone else opens it. Handy for one-time information. Remember that the reader can still copy the contents before it disappears.
Are my pastes encrypted?
Password-protected pastes store a hash of the password, and all site traffic uses HTTPS. The paste content itself is stored so it can be displayed again, so don't keep truly sensitive secrets here — production keys or other people's personal data, for example.
Can I edit a paste after creating it?
Yes, as long as the paste was created while you were signed in. Anonymous pastes can't be edited because they aren't tied to an owner.
What happens when a paste expires?
The paste is permanently deleted from our database the first time it is accessed after its expiry time, and cannot be recovered.
How do I report content that breaks the rules?
Click the Report button on that paste's page, or file a takedown request through the DMCA page for copyright cases.
